Elections have changed, and conservatives need to get with the program.
The day is fast approaching when the country may never accept another right-wing candidate as the legitimate winner of an election, because stolen elections have consequences.
The Left has now attempted to steal victories in two consecutive election cycles, first successfully and now partially so. It is clear that they will not stop tampering with our system of representation until it becomes their system of perpetual rule. And conservatives only help them when we insist on working through the corrupt system to give us favorable results. What corrupt system exists that can take legitimate input—which has not prevented the corruption—and produce an uncorrupted output? When does the solution, “This is broken, let me use it harder so that it fixes itself” ever work? I cannot think of a single example.
Virginia and New Jersey demonstrate that we have little chance of curing illegitimate elections through illegitimate elections. Both states held local elections Tuesday, November 2 that included a governor’s race, and each one began to favor the Republican candidate. Wednesday morning brought worrying news to both.
Virginia’s Glenn Youngkin had a solid lead going into the night, with Democrat Terry McAuliffe trailing by just over 3%. The reported vote total changed from 96% to 94% around 12 a.m. E.T., even as the total number of counted votes increased. It appears that the Left was trying to “fortify” an election once again, because math doesn’t work that way. By Wednesday morning Youngkin’s gap had decreased markedly but held steady at 70,000 votes—a margin that can easily be closed, as the New Jersey election showed.
Republican Jack Ciattarelli led the New Jersey race in the last hours of Tuesday night by over 50,000 votes. Then, just as in the 2020 general election, the wee hours of the morning provided ample opportunity for the Left to find enough votes to give them victory. Some 600,000 ballots arrived at 3 a.m. that diminished Ciattarelli’s lead to a mere 1,193 votes, leaving the race essentially tied and destined for a recount. Democrat and incumbent Philip Murphy didn’t stay behind for much longer; he soon had 1,400 more votes than Ciattarelli.
However, it was not smooth sailing for Murphy despite the Left’s best efforts. The race included two more lead changes, the discovery that more than 10,000 votes for Murphy had been double-counted, and mystery votes in Bergen County that were allegedly valid mail-in ballots—the county’s vote report inexplicably changed from 100% to 88% and flipped it from red to blue. The Left ultimately accomplished their goal for the election and gave Murphy the victory by over 65,000 votes.
Just because the Left did not produce 70,000 votes in Virginia to close the gap does not mean that they cannot. They clearly can, as they proved with New Jersey’s 115,000 votes. Perhaps this was a practice run for the Left and they didn’t want to appear overly suspicious—as if anyone would actually punish them—or perhaps the Left’s operation in Virginia was simply unprepared; whatever the reason, they opted to save one state and not the other, this time. Future elections may well be worse.
Conservatives are ill-equipped to prevent the Left from fortifying our elections. We have already cowered before their accusations that we are damaging the country’s democracy, that we are coup-sympathizers, that we are conspiracy theorists, and we have submitted ourselves to follow their narrative wherever they take it.
Just like we pretended the Left’s inquisition regarding 2016 was legitimate, their attack on the Supreme Court was legitimate, their BLM protests were legitimate, and our doubts about 2020 are illegitimate and our anti-COVID protests are illegitimate, so too will we pretend that the Left will continue to not cheat in all future elections, because we are scared of being called mean names. The Left’s bully tactics work.
Letting fear rule our political actions will lead to us losing every future election in perpetuity. How will this play out? To start, we concede that our democratic system is legitimate and we cannot question its outcomes. That allows the Left to tamper with it unopposed, since it would be unpatriotic and anti-democratic to suggest that there is a problem. Then, the Left hones their operation to eliminate all appearances of impropriety—no more flipped counties and mysterious new votes or midnight lead changes. That leaves conservatives being governed without representation, and we will appear unreasonable to everyone when we try to fix that problem since we agreed earlier that everything was legitimate. As a result, right-wing thought will be increasingly condemned until it sinks to complete illegitimacy.
As radio host Jesse Kelly points out, conservatives already do this with media narratives and, by proxy, elections:
That all may seem far-fetched, but even today the State controls how children breathe for most of their waking ours and has just approved jabbing them all with experimental vaccines because ‘it has to be tested eventually,’ and the State is continually trying to link conservatism with white supremacist racism, which our intelligence agencies have already declared to be the most imminent terror threat to the country. What will the Left be able to do tomorrow? What will we let them do?
It is impossible to capitulate a bully into changing course; effective communication requires both parties to speak the same language, and bullies understand surrender as permission. The proper response to a bully is to punch back.
We have tried to “catch more flies with honey” as the adage goes, but leftists aren’t flies, they’re abusers, and giving courtesy to abusers only enables them. Most conservatives are living with political Battered Woman Syndrome, believing that we deserve the Left’s abuse because of other political offenses and so cannot offer any resistance for fear of earning more of it—while also believing that if more of it comes, it will be deserved regardless. For that reason, they have an insatiable need to appease the Left.
Political commentator Mike Cernovich has it right:
The path to victory for us, and indeed for liberty, is to challenge everything the Left says and does as incessantly as they do it to us. We must realize that battering the batterer is the only way forward.
At every turn, the Left defend and even praise their radicals, and that is precisely because they have no desire to appease conservatives but only a desire for power. There is no reason for conservatives to abstain from that same tactic, since we have only been cutting ourselves off at the knees by condemning everything that the Left wants us to condemn as radicalism. So too has refuting the labels the Left gives to us proven ineffective despite the fact that those labels are untrue, so let us not continue down a road of futility.
We should find accurate labels to lob at the Left whereby we can discredit and ignore what they have to say, and we should not shrink from defending those of our ideology who have taken action against the Left. We must also question Democratic electoral victories, unwaveringly expose all leftist policy as oppression, refuse to apologize for being white (if we’re white), and most importantly we must do all these things in public or in front of our representatives so they can’t ignore us.
Above and beyond that, any of us who have the slightest opportunity to withdraw from the reach of the government or to become its hand must investigate that opportunity. The State cannot corrupt the nation’s children if their parents refuse to give them over to the schooling system. Similarly, the State will not violate truth, justice, and the American way if it consists of faithful conservatives who are dedicated to the preservation of those things.
